Dear

K. K. Dewit is not a sufficient book for CSS economics papers. Rather you have to study from other books as well taking reference for specific topics. I studied following books for my prep:
Paper I
  • Economics Today by Roger Le Roy Miller (For covering basic concepts of economics)
  • Economics by Samuelson (Core reference book)
  • International Economics by Stanely Fischer (Covered topics related to international trade and economics)
  • Monetary Economics by Mishkin (money, banking, interest etc)
  • Macroeconomics by Abel & Bernanke (For major macroeconomic topics including the IS-LM model)

Paper II
  • Dawn yellow pages (Monday issue)
  • Economics of Pakistan by Akbar Zaidi

@Naeem Ullah Khan

The previous post before your post has already answered your query about quality books. If you have done masters in economics then I don't think it will be much tough for you. But however I have seen the tendency among students of masters in economics to study sub standard books like those by Hamid Shahid, which are essential guide to failure in competitive exams. So if you had studied those books then I will recommend you not to opt economics as an optional.

Regards
