Dear Irteqa,

Iwon't suggest you to go for economics as an optional if you didn't study it earlier, because the requirement of paper is a copmlex one. But if you've great determination and you are interested in the subject with a great deal you can do good with the paper.
Well, as far as books are concerned, for paper I you can go through Modern Economic Theory by K.K.Dewett( for better understanding of theory)and Economics by P.A.Samuelson(for practice and case studies)
And for Paper II Economics of Pakistan by M.Saeed Nasir and Syed Kamal Hyder, along with it keep a watch on current economic issuses and have good time with newspapers

Regards

Salam Irteqa,

The books I mentioned for paper I are comprehensive and are available in easy language. Secondly they start from the basic concepts, so you can try these for basic understanding as well. I won't recomend you to go for any local writer, because local books for theory don't give clear picture of basic ideas. You may also consult Economics by Micheal Parkin.
After that if you encounter any problem, let me know, I'll try my best to solve your problem.

Regards
