I have my masters in IR. But university papers will guide you, it seems uncertain to me. If you do have any issues regarding outline, I'll try to help you.

Paper format would suggest you as it is of current affairs paper, but you have to attempt it as an IR scholar. For that, you have to touch your updated knowledge a little, and keep your concepts as well as theoretical structure as much high as you can. For instance, from South Asia, you would be asked about convergence and divergence of interests between the states, competed interests in Indian Ocean, repercussions of certain chemistry between bilateral states for other states, states penetration into nuclear umbrella, struggling for strengthening of economy, border issues, innovative trends in their foreign policy etc. These questions ironically have a possible connection with our current affairs paper. By seeking help from theories like realism, liberalism, marxism, globalisation and others, one can scrutinize his or her paper as an IR scholar.
As I don't have my university papers in soft form, so am unable to post it. Apologies. |

Neelam! For IR theories, "The Globalisation of World Politics" by Steve Smith & John Baylis, would serve the purpose of your understanding.
