Instead of wasting time in locally-produced mediocre books, kindly go for Baylis' book "Globalization of World Politics". It will surely SUFFICE you.

Quote:
• Nationalism frequently cuts across traditional tribal, cultural, language group and ethnic community boundaries • modern states are based on popular consent through an expression of national will -albeit nationalism has been the basis for effective govt. without democratic institutions or the rule of law Terms are given below which could be discussed according to the text after dash. Ofcourse there is no sequence in these points, one could arrange them according to examples. • Economic Nationalism - mercantilist policies • Cultural Nationalism - anticolonial movements • Dictatorship or Ethnic Domination - e.g. U.S foreign policy to suppress democratic forces that could challenge pro-US dictators like in Hispanic Central, Nicaragua, Iran and Middle East • Nationalism under Fascism • Role of Nationalism in French Revolution that shaped modern Europe • Role of Nationalism in Modern Europe and US • Jingoism or extreme patriotism • Role of narrative in nationalism |
