Having attended academies, I can honestly say that FPSC is targeting those subjects that are a) either taken lightly by academies and told to "yeh select sawal kr lo paper ho jae ga". example: Islamiat or b) Highly promoted; IR. Will be interesting to see what treatment Gender Studies gets since every other "CSS guru" gives the following advice during optional selection "Gender le lo, essay ho jae ga"

I don't think "targeting" is a thing. Questions are all from the syllabus. Depends on how much you've studied.

It depends on how in depth you've gone with every topic, keeping in mind that every syllabus outline may have over 100 topics, and that most people study one subject for a month at most.

I thought the 'track diplomacy' question was something that should've been in Paper 1, considering the topic of 'diplomacy' as a theory is in Paper 1's syllabus. However, it was given in paper 2.
And I don't remember seeing 'Resource Management' in the syllabus of either IR parts, nor 'terrorism' as a theoretical concept with definitions of various types.

Anyone who was strictly following the fpsc syllabus would have found a little difficulty considering these questions as a part of syllabus. The fact that FPSC is stretching the bounds of the syllabus poses a lot of difficulty for those who have never had a degree in this subject.

Can you share your educational background? What were your optional subjects? How did you prepare Essay, Current affairs, and Pakistan Affairs which are, in one way or another, linked to Political Science and International Relations?
