How to answer a question using IR theories?

I am confused that how would I apply theories in a given question, say the question says "Describe USA's Indo-Pacific strategy", I know what this strategy is about, the main purpose is curtailment of china, but how would I use theories in it. How would I segregate each heading. So one heading may be a Realist approach to countering China, so how would I add other points. It might not be possible to interpret every point in terms of major IR theory.
Your help in this regard would be appreciated, do you know of a way to get someone's question checked? I do not want to go to an academy.

Don't expect from any academy to help u in this regard
What I have come to know about this subject is to read 1st some books of ir authors
You'll get some idea
Like if u read henry kissinger's book you'll be surprised to read how beautifully he used ir jargons and concept on developments that took place during certain period of time

Yes, you are right in this regard, but you do need criteria against which to be evaluated at. The best person who can judge you is definitely not you. I have read books and i do know theories , if by theories IR jargon is being construed, then it makes sense, but if we consider main IR theories then they are not enough to answer whole question

Its not necessary to evaluate it using each theory. US has adopted a realist or you can say neo-realist approach towards china and the Indo-pacific policy is just one of its offshoots. Its a classic case of Thucydides trap.

And i remember the css2020 IR-II paper asked this while mentioning Chinese economic progress. That allowed us to mention critical theories as well.

To sum up, you dont need to utilize each theory. Just the one you think is pertinent and build your case from there with IR Jargon and references.

Thank you this makes sense, so basically we will build our case on particular theory/theories.

Yes, exactly. Build a strong case and highlight whichever theories you're using.

Sprinkling in pertinent references (book quotes, political theorists etc) too add to a better score.
