Default need help in IR

can anyone come up with the merits and difficulties(not demerits obviously) of opting IR as one of the optional subjects? i do believe that aptitude and interest are the 2 important factors for opting any subject of study, yet the thought provoking observation by any of the valued member can eliminate some of my confusions......

@Shakeel Shaikh

dear, no doubt IR is a very good choice from all aspects.
all u need is an analytical study of this subject and understanding of IR terms .International Relations is a detailed study of the contemporary world affairs. It includes topic of Current Affairs, and issues like Role of International Organizations in International Relations, Disarmarment , role of power, strategic issues and such. All in all, it covers all the main aspects of the International events and their affects on International Relations since WWI. IR is very good for Current Affairs also.

' The penguin dictionay of International Relations" by Graham evans and Jeffrey Newnham is very beneficial for a tender foot.

i'm doing masters in IR and belive me i found this subject very intresting .

secondly if u r confused about selection of IR books then u can click on folllowing link :

best of luck
regards,

If you have full command on these two subjects then its ok,otherwise these are low scoring subjects...........in my opinion try to put another subjects,

Indo-pak cover your Pakistan Affairs
Internation Relation cover your Current Affairs

Try to pick above subjects......

Default salam

welcome to the new comers and regards to all of my forum mebers.

well by reading u people posted threads i will add my experience further .

selection of optional subjects is totally depend on its previous record mean to say tht is it the scoring one or not bcz in css we need to score more and more n our optionals. anther thng whch shuld b kept in mind is tht b4 selection the subject the knowledge of the selected subject matter more. bcz f u r totally align and its greek to u thn avoid to opt it. wt matters a lot is ur personla interesr and inclination to the sel;ected subject.

dont thnk tht by opting Indo-pak i will cover 300 marks f u can do gud in arabic r in persian.

wt i know abot these two subjects is tht Arabic remaind the high scoring subject as compare to Indo-pak

anyhow, im not certain tht my view will b 100 percent acuret and upto the mark............

regards

shahid khan
