I think Prakash Chander book is the ideal one for IR,,,,
2ndly, its not good to meet trouble halfway.......u still have 5 months dear its more than enough time to prepare urself for CSS.. so dont put down ur guns and start ur preparation from the aforementioned book... it is very easy and simple book and will clear ur concept ........
3rdly u dont need to memorize each and everything, what u need is just to remember the important points and then practice to write notes on these points.........

our prayers are with u.......

goodluck.........

remember me in your prayers..........

@sonu
This sometime happens, on the way you are confronted with a subject, with which you are unable to harmonise owing to lack of interest and taste. I do not think that International relations is a boring subject, but it is a subject where diversify opinions made the events and happenings an important one. You frame your own opinion,by commenting on it and by assessing others and it can be a fruitful one.

The only way to cope with the situation when you are not following a right way, is by switching to another plan; the second track, i mean the line of action needs to be changed. First of all reassess your strategy and try to apply a mind game. Your mind assissts your body, if you think and aim in getting the things done. You need only, is to go through the major topics and later on you have to highlight the important points of every important question and that is the keynotes of every topic, that needs to be gone through again and again.

Apart from that you did not need to memorise at all, all the dates which seemingly, are less important. The years are important but those too are not neccessarily needs to be learnt each and every chronological events. If you really wanted to go into it, take a page and note down the important events.i.e years and vice versa.

So the crux revolves around three things.

Formulating new plan for a new situation.
Thoroughly reading the topic and later on skiming the important points.
Events with the years(important one) are to be noted on a paper
.

@asif

i already have paraksh chander book but,perhaps i want to go too fast and wants to cover this subject asap but ,it all also depends on how soon you grasp the topic.

@mawaan

friend this subject is of my interest but,i think i am trying to go too fast and it depends from person to person like i cant cover so many topics in a single day .i need a lot of time just to cover one topic and while studying i feel a lot of pressure on my head that i am running of time and this makes me irritate.

thankyou so much for helping me here .your reply is of great help.i will keep your suggestions in my mind while studying.

haste is waste

wow.....
just make a sketch or outline of the whole subject and relate your entire readings of current affairs to interantional relations and construct a response.
do not feel you are running out of time. calm down and do little but with consistency...remember tortoise will win the race not a rabbit.....:haha

wish you all the best

Trying to go too fast do not make the problem, the problem arises when you are not getting exceptional while going through. It is good way to cope as soon with the subject as early, so the next subject in waiting, catches your attention and you pass the prepation period nicely. To cope with the time just go for skimming and scanning, things would go your way.

Relax and enjoy reading while preparing the subject, dont take it as a burden on you rather than take the grip over it with firm approach. The moment you sense, that to prepare this subject is not a big deal, the subject would be easier to handle. You will feel pleasure to read. The more you will get into the timing factor, the more you will feel difficulty and irritation in prepartion.
