International Relations by [B]Parkash Chandar[/B] is a good book for developing the basic concepts but that's not the be-all and the end-all for this subject....read some extra material on [B]America's Foreign Policy[/B] from some other book...from any foreign author;further, you should have an insight into the Foreign Policies of Major international players....to that effect,study the newspaper while keeping in mind various facets of the field of international relations....Memorise tha names of some reputed think tanks of the world and authenticate your own ideas by giving their reference in the paper....that'd do the trick necessary for obtaining max. marks in that paper....my friend got 77 marks by employing the same technique...

Here r two books suggested by [b]ASP Ayaz[/b] for IR(he scored 74 in IR papaer)

1)[b]Globalization of World Politics[/b]--an Edited book published by Oxford press.
2)[b]International Relations-Power and Justice[/b]---authored by Columbus etc.

"Politics Among Nations" by Hans Morgenthau, anyone comment on this?

aoa, this book is considerd to be of high standard and very much refferd book to IR student. so go for it if u r opting IR.

The penguin dictionay of International Relations

I have this book named ' The penguin dictionay of International Relations" by Graham evans and Jeffrey Newnham. This is a comprehensive dictionary with a full coverage of major events, articles on political and philosophical concepts such as nationalist and just war, detailed description of key organizations, explanations of sepcialist term like zero-sum, and summaries of key developments since 1989. I think its a good source of info. One should really have this book in thier collection.
