From where i read it, I can feel that the pattern might give a surprise. They must for sure have thought before bringing those small but important changes.

The best thing is to confirm.

Also, it doesnt make sense that one opts for the linguistic optional of Arabic and solves it in english. Isnt that a big joke?

Can i solve Physics or Psychology in Urdu/ ?

And the FPSC will damn not care of handing you an exam paper asking you to solve it in Arabic. No one is going to listen to the cries and protests after the paper.

Absolutely agree with you Roshnain.FPSC have made it clear this time in the rules that Arabic and Persian papers will have to solved in their respective languages in their entirety from CSS 2015 onwards. Those folks who still think that they will be able to attempt these papers in English and Urdu like before will be shell-shocked on the exam day.

It was my moral obligation to inform the aspirants of the changes in the larger public interest.

I am thinking of dropping Persian for CSS 2015 as attempting all questions in Persian is a tough ask.

That would be a good decision on your part. If you are not good at writing Persian then it could be quite risky and no one is willing to put tens of marks at stake.

I dont think anyone in FPSC will confirm it at this stage. They will simply ask you to read the rules- thats it. And the rule does not mention Urdu or English anywhere.

This will then solely depend on the examiner that how he/she puts the instruction at the top of the paper.

Since the word Urdu/English have been completely expunged in the rules, this must contain a reason - most logical of which is that they want the respective language to be used while answering. So they might put that very instruction at the top giving a surprise to all the exam takers.

It is also possible that they instruct otherwise- It depends on the individual now. Is he/she ready to take the uncalculated risk?

These are just my understandings.

I largely agree with you Roshnain.FPSC usually does not address such queries. They will simply quote the rule, that is it.

These rules are carefully drafted by FPSC.Every word has its significance. The phrase "unless stated otherwise" has always been there, but the option to write the exam in Urdu/English has been expunged for the first time. The only logical conclusion is that FPSC will require the candidates to answer all questions in Persian.

As Persian is not our mother tongue, attempting questions related to history of Persian language or poets in Persian will be a huge ask.I have decided to quit Persian for the same reason.
