it is simple tha war produce kings. great wars produce great kings eg alexander the great produced after battle of charenea, saladin after hattin/ baibars after ain jalut/ louis 14 after 30yr war etc.

you are right that great kings are the outcomes of fierce battles but i was asking about which paper of Pol sci that was asked??
