ur knowledge of urdu is impressive, plz guide abt the tashree portion of PMs urdu general paper. as u ve mentioned and it is evident from past papers too that we are not required to write the poet's name, my querry is that if we dont know the name of the poet ,can we correctly comprehend the poetry? i mean a shair might convey different literal meaning but its meaning with regard to the whole work might be different.
my second querry is that what standard we should keep in view while doing tashree. is it the mere translation of words or we must write something with reference to the context of the stanza?
moreover plz guide abt the source from which urdu grammer can be prepared as most of us dont study urdu after fsc.
and lastly i ve heard from someone that urdu paper should be done in a manner which is liked by urdu teachers. i mean giving poetic references,quotes from famous urdu scholars etc.. if this is the requirement how can we manage to learn these things in this short time..
plz elaborate.

The verses in Urdu compulsory are enough easy to explain.They are just to check your understanding and capability to elaborate poetry,that's why,they are neither complicated nor convey any ambiguous meanings.For example;

tum hamaray kisi tarah na hue,
werna dunya mein kia nahi hota

Even if you don't know the name of poet,you can easily explain.Isn't it?

Look!the verses for tashreeh are not taken from "Nazm" whose every sher is connected with the other having some context.In paper of Urdu compulsory,they give sher from "ghazal" and ghazal's every sher is different from the other so no context at all.Well..It should not be mere translation rather it should be proper explanation.Tashreeh which I did in previous post is "mafhoom" just for understanding of ghazal.Proper Tashreeh should be like this;

Just memorize some easy poetic verses which can be used in every tashreeh.Poetry on "gham","mortality of world","indifference of beloved".Find easy ashaar that can be easily memorized.for example;

dil e nadaa'n tujhe hua kia hai,
aakhir is dard ki dawa kia hai

And

tum meray paas hotay ho goya,
jab koi doosra nahi hota

Is sher mein shaiyir un aazmaishon ka ziker kerta hai jo insan ko kamyabi hasil kernay mein paish aati hain.wo qatray k gohar ban'nay mein dar'paish aanay wali rukawaton ki misaal deta hai.Shayir kehta hai samundar mein maaujon ka jaal bicha hua hai,sainkarron(hundreds) magarmachhon k moun is jaal k halqay ki manind hain.aik qatray ko gohar ban'nay k liye be'shumaar khatron ka saamna kerna parta hai.Sirf baa'himmat aur khushnaseeb qatra he in halqon se bach ker sadaf ki gehraiyon mein ja pohanchta hai aur aik din goher e aabdaar ban ker chamkta hai.Isi tarah insaan ko darja e kamal tak pohanchnay k liye sakht mushkilat ka saamna kerna parta hai.yani goher ban'nay k liye himmat,hosla aur mustaqil mizaaji darkaar hai.

agar aasaniyaan hon zindagi dushwar ho jaye ...

Do you have any experience of urdu to english translation before this PMS.
We can write urdu to english as per we generally follow but if its specifically different than that general assumption then let me know.....If you know from where to follow it, i mean source. mention it as well.....

Btw thank God i got this part in Karwan's book as well and they have given some model passages but i observed it is not of general nature translation but it must be quite professional one fully comprised of punctuation rules and other pact ones. We can not do it generally which i was thinking we can....
