need help for physics

sallam to all members. i need your guidance regarding physics. As u aspirants knows that the subjects has re-grouped and to cover your 600 marks of optional subjects one must have to opt one subject of 200 mark..
i m civil engineer and quite good in derivations and technical subjects and able to write and elaborate in my own wording once i go through the whole topic and derivation of scientific subject..
can i opt physics?..what u suggest as i have heard from many people that physics is disastrous and can never fetch you a good marks?
please guide me as early as possible because its very rare to get answer on physics forum..
and if you recommend me then please please refer me any 1 good book of physics which can completely prepare me for both papers.
anxiously waiting 4 ur rply..
