Post Physics Book(Halliday and Resnick)

Hello Engineers,

For the past many days, I have been noticing that people here and there are wondering about what edition of Halliday and Resnick should be followed and why?

The answer to this is pretty straight forward. Obviously, FPSC will not going to ask questions from one book. Therefore, we should map out the general ideas behind the topics and should prepare ourselves to solve the numericals related to those topics. For that, we must have a solution manual - not to cram, but to get satisfaction after solving any exercise problem upon its correct solution. Hence, I decided to share the book(9th Edition extended) along with its solution manual, just to push every and everyone of you to stop cogitating about editions and to start preparing this "scoring" subject, Physics, right away!

Here is the Dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vf0wswxpc...iBM9yZO8a?dl=0

Wish you best of luck!

Regards.

it is not about which book you use. it is about preparing the topics especially the questions from past papers. and you will waste precious time if you begin solving the exercises. go through past papers first and then jump to conclusions. i appeared with Physics twice so i hope you will put an ear to what i have said.

Regards

Edition does not matter. If you want to go for the new edition, it is your prerogative; however, the laws, theories and explanations will be the same. 9th edition extended is not that bad in my view.

Sorry, I do not have that - as I did not find any sole reason to have new edition.

Your progress so far has appalled me! I am not following any single book though, but as per the syllabus, I have "only" covered Vectors, Newtonian Mechanics and Fluids yet; and obviously the questions related to all of the above sections from the past papers(2001 - 2015; past papers of last fifteen years).

You are going with the great, remarkable pace. Keep posting such *shocking* news; so that I get a motivation to burn the midnight oil more.

Regards.

P.S. I was not compelling you to follow the book I shared.
Good luck!

CONCEPTS OF MODERN PHYSICS BY SERWAY, MOSES ( as mentionaed in the syllabus)
HEAT AND THERMODYNAMICS BY LORRAIN CORSON
All books latest edition because more advanced knowledge, more effective

I am just a bit weak in vector calculus so paying more attention to it.
