For all those who are opting Physics, keep these points in mind.
1. Prepare the topics given in the CSS syllabus. Topic-wise. You need not study stuff that is not part of the syllabus. Go through the past papers and you will get an idea of what kind of questions you should expect.

2. Don't rely on a single source/book. Prepare the topics from different books, notes, online sources, video tutorials etc.

3. To save time, download Physics video lectures given by MIT professor Walter Lewin. But only the relevant topics. Not all of them. (You can watch the others after your exams if the lectures arouse your interest which they will, I am sure.)
The lectures can be downloaded from different websites and are available in torrents as well.
Don't solely depend on the lectures for your preparation. They don't cover all topics.

4. If you go through the past papers, you will see that some topics/questions recurrently appear in the papers. Prepare these well. Every single one of them.

5. You can skip some portions of the syllabus if you think you don't have enough time. But even from those portions try to prepare the questions that appeared in past papers.

6. There are many good books that you can prepare from. Decide your choice of sources for different topics, get the relevant pages printed and stick to your choice. Or at least note down the sources for different topics/questions. You surely don't want to end up being panic-stricken when exams are around the corner while searching for the sources you prepared from.

7. Some good books:
a. Fundamentals of Physics (Extended) by Halliday and Resnick
b. Physics: Principles with Applications by Giancoli
c. The Physics Companion by Fischer-Cripps (A very concise book covering lots of topics, a must-have I believe.)
There are many other good books that you can download from online sources. You can search specific topics through google. Usually detailed topics are available in pdf formats which you can search by placing .pdf along with the topic's name in google. You can also prepare your own notes about some topics from different sources.

CSS physics is not like matric, fsc. It needs strong commnad on topics. Examiner is bound to ask difficult question in order to parallel all the optional subjects
