My Physics Notes(CE-2014)

Paper I=78 Paper II=71
Total = 149
You will notice that it is very easy to score in Physics with just one month or less preparation.
I will update with thread in future.
Here is Atomic Physics copy.

I want to thanks engrmairy for his timely help. I was facing some difficulties in the subject, which now seem to have been resolved due to your excellent notes. The notes are easy to interpret, succinct and relevant. It seems that you have prepared the notes with great interest.

I hope that you will upload the notes of renaming topics in time.

I also want to ask, how did you prepare the numerical questions? Given the scarcity of the time, if I only prepare the sample problems (examples) given in the 'Halliday Resnick', will it suffice the need?

Thanks

Q1). What was your strategy ?
Ans. I tried my best to follow the course outline completely and to follow the books recommended by FPSC provided they were available in PDF. Sometimes I didn't find sufficient material for the topics mentioned in the outline so I skipped those topics.

Q2). To what depth we should study a topic ?
Ans. Check the outline first and then see to what depth the recommended books has discussed that topic. If recommended book is not available then check the past 10 years papers and you will have a fair idea to what depth you should study that.

Q3) Are FSC books sufficient ?
Ans. Well FSc level books are not sufficient at all. However still they are very good books. Again the criteria to judge its usefulness is same. If recommended books are also discussing the topic to the same depth as in FSc books, then it is better to prepare that topic from FSc books. If past papers, outline and recommended books are clearly indicating that FSc book is not sufficient then you should follow the procedure discussed above.
Many times you just have to add points and mathematical relations in the FSc level text. So in short i think FSc books are very useful and even my notes contains many topics taken from FSc level text.

Q4) What are the major weakness of FSc Books ?
FSc books are written for both Pre-medical and Pre-Engineering students. In the whole book you will not find any integral or differential. You will find rate of this, rate of that , sum of this and sum of that instead. Most of the natural phenomena are described by differential equations which FSc level book can't mention. So FSc books seriously lack mathematical modeling. Also topics are not discussed in detail.

Q5). Is Physics a good optional for Medical students?
Ans. Well not at all. Medical students even don't have any idea of integral and differentiation. Anybody who has no knowledge of Calculus, Differential Equation and Complex variable Algebra should not opt Physics.

Q6). Which books did you study ?
Ans). Well it is hard to mention that because they were many. My notes will give you clear idea of my sources. However let me mention some good books which I benefited from.
For Nuclear physics Kaplan is a good book. For Oscillation A.P french book and MIT video course is a good source. For Electromagnetism MIT video course is a best source. For Atomic Physics Bieser book is best choice. For Relativity Stanford University videos lectures are great. General Physics books which I used mostly were Halliday-Resnick, Giancoli, Berkeley notes, Raymond A.Serway, FSc and BSc notes. Well technique in using these book was the same as discussed in Q1).

Q7). How to prepare numericals ?
Ans. I don't think that there is any need to prepare numericals separately. The key is learn the derivations carefully. If you do that then numericals are just putting values of known quantities to find unknown quantity. My notes mainly contains derivations. The detailed explanations are not there in my notes. Focus is on derivations.

Q8) How long does it take to prepare Physics ?
Ans. Well I prepared it in one month. I studied from many sources, watched plenty of video lectures and also prepared notes but still 30 days were enough. So i think 20 days are enough.

Q9) Are your notes enough ?
Ans. Obviously no they aren't. My notes just contains derivations and key points. You have to study from original sources. My notes will provide guidance however.

Q10) Is Physcis a scoring subject ?
Ans. My preparation had many weakness. They were questions in the paper for which I was not prepared and I have skip them. Still I was able to score 149. So personally I believe that with a good preparation one can get 170.

Q11). What tips would you like to give ?
Ans. I will encourage you to start from where I left. Add more material in my notes. Prepare topics in more detail. Do the topics which I skipped. Prepare the topics in greater depth. My notes will save much of your time so you can do that. When I started, I had no direction, no notes, no guidance and everybody was discouraging me for my optionals. I proved them wrong. So it is easy. In fact very easy to score in Physics. Set the new trend of scoring 170+ in Physics.
Congratulations. I appreciate your effort. In addition, I believe that during your preparations you would have made a list of most repeated questions. If so, I request you to kindly share the list here and offer every CSS aspirant with a head start.

Thank you for the notes.
enrmairy please upload the notes of Electricity and Magnetism.

You have done a marvelous job by providing an excellent resource on the subject. I don't know about others but, my success in this subject will be directly indebted to you.

So, please finish what you started.

Again, Please upload the notes of Electricity and Magnetism.

Thanks
