Default Physics CE-2017

Dear members,

I am in a bit of a situation here.

I really want to take up physics and CE-2017 will be my first and last effort to clear the CSS exams.

I did my O and A levels from Islamabad and then proceeded on to become an Electrical Engineer.

As of yet, I have not come across a person who has recommended physics as a good optional subject, therefore I proceeded to consult the Annual Reports published by FPSC and I came to the conclusion that generally physics is not really a high scoring subject (even for those students who were pre-familiar with the subject), but then again I came to notice that in a couple of years it did serve the candidate's interest very well and they were able to score good marks.

What I want to know is after the changes in the syllabus, what can we expect from physics and should we opt for it or not?

Please answer this question, keeping in mind the changes in syllabus, as the reports that I have studied were published when the syllabus had not yet been altered.

After introduction of new revised syllabus by fpsc physics became important and scoring subject for those who had already physics background.
I also opt physics for CE 216 and I fully satisfied with this.
We can score well as compared to other subjects mentioned in first two groups.
Best of luck

it's indeed a scoring subject ,providied,if you know how to tackle it .For engineeers it's just a piece of cake.i am also an Engineer and i hav also opted physics for CE 2017 and have finished Paper 1 almost .it is easy man .Just put yourself together and beat the time .
One thing more ,study textbooks e.g fundamental by resnick etc ..do not go for guides.
Stay blessed ..taa taa bye bye

AOA Yousaf Shah and Assassin, thank you for your input.
It seems to me that if you prepare well and on time then one can expect good marks from this subject.

Anyone of you live in Islamabad?

I am also considering it for 2017. I am an electronics engineer. The good thing about science subjects is that there is only one correct answer to any question. There is no opinion involved. So if you get the answers right, you are guaranteed marks.

However, the syllabus is not a piece of cake even for engineers. The answers will require lots of diagrams, and some of the laws/theories in the syllabus are complex.

I am not confident of tackling this subject alone. Anyone from Karachi opting Physics in 2017?

I am an Electrical Engineer too. And I have opted Physics for CE-2016. The syllabus is humongous, otherwise it is a piece of cake for anyone having an engineering background specially Electrical/Electronics.

Leave the debate of high and low scoring subjects - you prepare it well you get the result.

wasxxm yes, you are right.

After some consideration, I have decided to go with Physics.

I have also decided to take up International Relations which is historically not amongst the highest scoring subjects, but it really does help with the other subjects

Default physics option in2017 exam

Physics is very tough subject to study it deeply, I m studying it since 2015 and has prepared well, I think it should not be studying so deeply because it will never comes to end, hence selected study will be beneficial. I intend to appear in 2017 exam with this subject and I.R as main subjects.

Physics is Love. Although, I am not satisfied with my performance in physics in 2016 owing to paucity of time in last couple of days, but will hit the nail hard in 2017 InshaAllah
