Default Help required for starting Physics preparation

I have decided to opt Physics as my optional subjects for the CSS exam.I would request to help me in preparing for Physics exam.

I studied Physics till FSC and then opted for a BA degree. Even though I do not hold relevant degree, I believe that I can prepare myself for the exam. However, I am having difficulty in taking a start. If any of you could please mentor me on how should I start studying for the exam and put me on the right track, I will be highly obliged and thankful.

I would request to suggest me a schedule and books through which I may go to prepare myself keeping in mind that I have not studied Physics at BSc Level. Also please identify the areas I should cover first to build base for complex topics.

Many thanks

AOA,

B.Sc Physics is similar to F.Sc physics. You only need first to revise F.Sc books which will not consume much time and then study Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday , Resnick , this will be sufficient.

Best of luck!

Post Help required for getting started with physics

Any subject could be opted if u have aptitude and relevant knowledge base but u have to bear in mind the fact that u are nt just going to pass the exam rather fight for a better group.the issue is that physics is a technical subject and questions asked in this papers are of post graduate level so even if u have talent and confidence pass the paper you can not excel owing to ur limitation in ur knowledge base .so if u opt a general subject u ll have to put lesser labour and u can reap better results.so i suggest you not to go for physics as it will affect your other subjects.(

salam Respected members.

Brother if you have a back ground of physics...I beg you to go for it,because it took me only 6-7 days( I had only 75 days for preps) to go through all the course except for the few probabilistic distributions and Lande G's factor which were intentional delayed. Most of the literature oriented members will always suggest not to opt for technical subjects as I was strictly dis advised by experienced aspirants, but I went a step further to choose Applied Mathematics. But after all, its all up to your taste.Physics will bring extremely solid marks to you if you work on your concepts,However you should follow your own passion.
In my case( March 2010),Both the papers of physics were easy( as usual) which made even my friends motivated for physics.Under extremely worst case scenario,a minimum of 140 marks are expected inshallah.
My preparation for physics included

www.wikipedia.com (main focus, take a topic from syllabus, search on Wikipedia and take notes of every important point).
Search key words of practice problems relative to the topic.you will find lot of solved and useful examples every where.I remember I bookmarked more than 15 websites for physics practice problems.

Fundamentals of Physics Halliday & Resnick ( i went through the book, but will not recommend it for you.

Fsc 1st year and 2nd year book, ensure practice in problem solving.

SSC 9th and 10th physics( I found it very improved)

My friend,

I will recommend that you must follow Halliday & Resnick as a reference book and then use the internet to develop solid understanding of the subject.
