if ur from punjab then buy the books taught according to the course of PU they are more then enough.2 books.

even better is that you buy notes of some professor of BSC level. the reason is simple, Books are written in hifi english and the equations are not derived just formulas and derived equations are written, but in notes they are written like proper questions which are easy to understand and remember.

aoa all,

i m an electronics engg from uet, lahore 2003 fall session. i also wanted to select physics ... but i m still confused, becuz i know an engg of 2003 session uet electrical (1 year senior) who did not go for physics and maths, (appeared in 2008 css) as these subjects are regarded low scoring these days..it really is confusing... i wrote a mail on this group 4 months back asking about physics and some csp officiers suggested me not to go for it, as they said that i will take a lot of effort and no output.

But it really comes down to ur interest and what u consider a safe option.

Physics is not a big deal for engineers but covering its syllabus and using 3-4 books over a span of 6 months to 1 year ... may lead to a lot of time consumed in one subject of 200 marks, and in the end...if that years paper is tough or if the low scoring trend of physics continues a lot of strenuous work may be wasted.... as far as scoring high in css is concerned

Instead, just assume, we go for sociology and international relations... current affairs is compulsory..u have to perfect them and international relations can help improvenstudy and understanding of current affairs

sociology + or any other 100 number subject may take much less time then physics and may give higher marks... this is the point of view of a lot of engineers these days.

I am still undecided abt physics because of time factor especially...

People who are masters of physics, or extraordinary in it, should definitely go for it but everyone should realize that physics may take a lot of time to perfect and may or may not give u desired results... its low scoring aspect makes it a gamble

I have in previous 5-8 years not heard of anyone opting for physics and getting good marks in it or being satisfied out of it. If someone has some examples of such people, please do share with me here.
