Kindly answer the following question:
Q.1: A city has 20 apartment and 40 bungalows.what is the ratio of apartment in the city?
a. 1/3, b. 2/3, c.3/5

a.1/3 as total apartments plus bungalows are20 and 40 so their ratios become 20/60 and 40/60 and apartments ratio becomes 1/3 as eliminating figures by 20 may be i am wrong but ratios are stated in this manner

The answer should be 1/2 or 1:2.

The answer is 1/3
20 apartments+ 40 banglows = 60
20/60= 1/3

Default Difference between ratio and fraction.

Ratio = Part / remaining part

Fraction = Part / whole

As we are asked to find ratio, therefore,

20 / 40 = 1 /2 will be the answer.

If we have been asked fraction then the answer would have been 1 / 3.
