Re:
I found it to be quite scoring. I appeared in 2009. I scored 146.
Paper A = 58 Paper B = 88 Go for applied maths but you need to practice a lot.

yes i will go for applied mathematics because in applied mathematics statics and dynamics are included and i have read these chapters in my engineering career. only two topics will be new for me and thar are tensor and numerical analysis. can you plz tell me ,what are the books you adopted for mathematics and one more thing i learnt,if you commit a single mistake in your paper as a result your whole question will be crossed. Is it true? and kindly plz send me your whole dmc

Re:
I don't think so. I really screwed my Maths paper I. I though i wasn't going to pass in that. In paper II i left ten marks and i have scored 88.
They changed the format and i wasn't expecting it to be like that. Plus I think they're encouraging students to opt for Maths. I think only 50-60 people opted in 2009. Lahore had only 30ish students. You should consult past papers. Tensors and numerical analysis is quite easy. But time is quite short. You must start practicing soon. You don't get a lot of time in the end. Not a single person i met over the past year encouraged me to opt for Maths. But i would def encourage you. If you can practice and spend time on it.

dear zubair,
you should opt applied maths,as being among the most scoring subjects in 2010-11.as muhammad aafzal secured 174 marks n ayesha mehmood as the topper in math snatched 190 marks. i myself m the student of Mechanical engineering student hav optd A.math, the portions differential equations n numerical analysis are usually studied in mecanical engg; and the portion of statics n dynamics u might hav studied in mechanics as per formal course. only the portion of tensor analysis u urself hav to study n should hav to grip over it. only the thing to make the maths as highr scoring subject is to practice more n more, as much possible u can. wish u best of luck |

If you work hard and give appropriate time the subject, it can be high scoring
