Hello.
1) Statistics Sher Muhammad’s book (Vol1 and Vol 2 both) for statistics is enough. Solve past exams of at least 5 years making notes for theoretical portion. 2) Applied Maths No single book covers the whole syllabus as you might have noticed that the syllabus is quite vast. For mechanics portion Q. K. Ghouri’s book is enough. For other topics you can consult any book you like. I recommend using Zill’s book for ODEs. As for any other mathematical exam, practice is key. I also suggest to be comfortable with integration and differentiation techniques before starting applied maths prep. The full name of the books I have mentioned can be found in the suggested books sections of CSS syllabus for these subjects. Good luck. |

Financial Accounting
I used CA books for this portion in my first attempt. This time I used the book by Sohail Afzal which is what I would recommend you to do as well. Cost accounting Sohail Afzal’s book. Really good. Auditing I think I used the book by Saeed Nisar. Use any book, all are same. Just make notes. Finance Van Horne Ross Business Some local author. Very basic concepts. Again, use any book to make notes. Tax Moazzam. Numerical questions are tricky often. In addition to all these books, I used the book by JWT. If you do not have any background in accounting, this subject is not recommended. If you still want to go ahead, choose only if you have: i) ample time e.g you are going for 2021 attempt ii) some guidance/teacher Practice is key. Good luck. |

Questions have been asked on journal entries, ratios and final accounts. Do these well. You may skip partnership. I skipped it. Yes it is possible to rely on the jwt book for auditing. All the topics are covered. It also depends on your strategy. If you want to do 2 questions from Auditing then it’s probably a good idea to use one of the suggested readings in addition to jwt. My own strategy for paper 2 was i) selected topics from auditing which required only a basic understanding (1 Q) ii) income tax only (1 Q) iii) prepared finance and business thoroughly (2 Qs) |

statistics by sher muhammad chuadhary
books by sher m. chaudhary are best for statistics but if sir kafayt ullah gives time , somehow , he is best for statistics and mathematics .As recommended by many successful csp's and my personal experience along many other fellow friends he is best teacher.
