Governance & Public Policies

Anyone taking Governance & Public Policies ?
which books u plan to use ?

Aik Admi Sunday, April 19, 2015 03:39 PM

I considered the subject but would probably go for its tested variant, Public Administration, not least because the 'right' preparation material for Public Administration is much easily available and better defined.

Any thoughts?

I agree with you that material of PA will be easily available but it is a very risky subject.

Risky? Is there a problem with the scoring trend?

Which of these two subjects, that is, public ad or Governance & Public Policies should one opt for in combination with political science??? I think the latter has a lot in common with pol.sci. Suggest please keeping in view the subj. material of these. Regards

There would be some overlapping in the syllabi of Governance & Public Policy and Political Science:

e.g. 'II. Governance Theories; VIII. Multi-level Governance in Pakistan; IX. Federalism etc. will have similar subject content as Political Science.

Similarly, 2 Topics within Public Administration may overlap with Political Science, i.e. IX.Organization of Provincial and Local Government; X. Governance and Administrative Reforms.

I think if the consideration is 'overlapping', Governance would be a better choice.

We can't rely merely on web material.

Please suggest some good books. "Some" means 2-3 books which are enough for preparation.
