Administration and management

I am beginner level student of public ad and am confused with these words that if there is any difference between ad and management or not . If it has, then what it is?

This relates to how you look at administration. One view is that administration and management are basically the same. According to this view, the role of administration is to execute policy directives. Policy in turn is sketched out by parliament. This view comes from the politics-administration dichotomy tradition.

The other view of adminstration sees it as the sum total of all state activity. This includes the making of laws by parliament, their execution by politicians and civil servants, and also the function of the judiciary in interpreting the laws.

Bro Administration and management are considered to be interchangeable. But when we talk about their application then the term management is applied to private setting or private sector, while administration is concerned with govt. setting.
As both management and administration have somewhat similar functions so theories of management are also applied in administration. Keep it mind, practically the terms management or administration can be used for private and public organizations.
