I have chosen the following subjects:
International relations 200
International law 100
Gender studies 100
Journalism 100
One subject from History 100
Kindly advise me whether I should choose European history or USA history?
Which one is shorter syllabus and more scoring?

I have chosen international law and relations as a huge portion of these subjects overlaps with current affairs. I want to choose history in such a way that overlaps with current or Pakistan affairs and is shorter in syllabus.

I had tried British history in my previous attempt but now the fpsc has changed the marks from 200 to 100 and kept the syllabus as it is which is very lengthy.

Opt US History

Reasons for opting US history

1) Shortest of all history subjects (1776 to 2014)
2) Only those presidents are important who have governed for 2 terms (8years)
eg George washington, thomas jefferson,Franklin d roosevlt, hary truman, Eishenhower etc to name a few

3) It will help in international law,International relations, current affairs and to some extent essay

4) Its constitution is one of shortest in the world

5) easy to cover in a span of 4 to 7 days depending upon a person's caliber

These are my views. You have a right to agree or disagree.

PS (Us history was one of my optional for 2016 css ) :)

i have written "It was one of my optional's for css 2016" as you know css 2016 exams were held from 18th feb- 25 feb, 2016. so the result is yet to be declared by FPSC. In terms of marks my brother and a friend opted US history for css 2015. My brother scored 59 and my friend scored 63 in the said subject.

@yasir A lot of candidates who have opted IR are opting IL and US history due to some overlapping portions.

Do you think it will make it harder to score good in these subjects, as compared to prior years?

I don't think US history and IL will be a suicide for aspirants in the near future. IR though on the other hand require conceptual answers. US history and IL (as per my exp of ce-2016) are pretty straight forward questions.

So my guess these 2 subjects will still be high scoring :)

International Relations II = 30 % European History 20% Intl Law and 50% Current Affairs.
International Relations I = 15 % I Law ( as a chapter) rest 85% is IR Basics.
If one has EH, ILaw as optionals, he will need to prepare for just 85% which are basics.

This analysis of mine is the sole reason of my preference of IR over ACCOUNTANCY.

Dear Seniors, I also look for your precious guidance over this analysis done by me.
