Hi, I'm in a fix regarding which history should I opt. I personally have no problem with any of the subjects except Islamic history. A friend of mine told me to opt for European history as according to him its course is relatively short. But others have told me exact opposite of it. Please tell me that among Indo Pak , British and European history which subject's course is relatively short. Secondly in past few years which subject has been comparatively more scoring?
I would appreciate if any senior member can help me out.

i will suggest u to go for indo pak history rather opting for british or european history. the edge of indo pak history over others subject is that paper 2 of indo pak history is far more relevent with pakistan affairs. so u r covering pak affairs as well while preparing for paper 2. moreover we have a good knowledge our history as its part our curriculum and we have a background of previously studying the subject. if u check the summary results of previous css exams subjectwise, u will find that it is a good scoring subject regarding other subjects of the same group.

british history is very much easy ,short and high scoring i have completely prepared british history in one month without any difficulty. if u want guideline i will

i totally agree with mr.usman about his view that british history is very much easy subject as compared to indo pak history,there are reasons as its period is very short and it is very easy

Go ahead with Indo-Pak history, but i will suggest you to choose Islamic History and Culture, i opted Indo-Pakistan History in 2009 CSS but did not get good score. But this is not neccessary if i do not get good score than everyone else can not get good score.
That was what i think but you should go ahead with your choice.

Thanks for your reply Uzma. Well I have decided to opt for British History.
The books I have selected are Sheikh M.Qayum "B.History at Glance " and second book is by VD Mahajin.
Are the books which I have selected sufficient?
Please guide me about your own choice of books and methodology which you embraced for your preparation.

british history by pc thomas is best and study also shiekh qayyum .at the end of every topic critically analyse it if u want to get high marks then draw maps etc with every topic .you will find maps in english history by George W. Southgate i also study some topics from this book

I had Indopak in my first attempt. It is "not scoring". It is bitter truth. If you equal earth and heaven in indopak, they don't award desired score. It is my personal experience. Opt US History, very easy to the point and ever green scoring. You can prepare it into 10 days. I opted it into my second attempt and it will be one of my optional subjects for CE-15 too inshallah.. I suggest you to opt US History and leave others. I assure you that it will give you good score inshallah. Rest you are master of your own decision.
