Please check my plan for Paper-I and notify if I have missed anything.
STUDY PLAN FOR BRITISH HISTORY PAPER 1 I: GLORIOUS REVOLUTION 1688 89 The Revolution of 1688 89 was spoken by our ancestors as the Glorious Revolution. Give your views on this statement and enumerate the results of this Revolution. (2001) Note: Events of glorious revolution (2002) The year 1688 was a great landmark in the history of England. The struggle between the King and the Parliament ended in the victory of the latter. Comment to analyze the results of the glorious Revolution. (2004) The true glory of the British Revolution lay in the fact that it was bloodless, that there was no civil war, no massacre and no proscription. Discuss and enumerate the result of Glorious Revolution. (2005) Never was a king stronger than James-II when he ascended the throne. In spite of this, he lost his throne in record time. This may seem to be strange but that was largely due to his own acts of omission. Comment and enumerate the causes of the glorious Revolution. (2006) How did the glorious Revolution in England affect the Social, Economic, Political and cultural life of English people? Explain and analyze. (2008) The glorious Revolution of 1688 was a great event in the annals of British History by which the king of England became servant of the people. Analyze this statement with special reference to the result of the Revolution. (2008) The Glorious Revolution of 1688 ushered in a new era of change, liberty and participation of the people in the decision making process, a view held by historians. His price was now humble and the power of France was shattered. (Southgate) Comment.(2007) III: WAR OF SPANISH SUCCESSION The most important event of the reign of Queen Anne (1702 1714) was the war of Spanish Succession. Analyze the causes, events and results of the war. (2002) The most important event of the reign of Queen Anne was the War of Spanish Succession which practically occupied the whole of her reign. Comment and give the causes of this war.(2006) AREA OF FOCUS: Causes, Events, Results IV: HANOVERIAN SUCCESSION Describe the political and constitutional significance of the Hanoverian succession on the course of British history. (2002) Robert Walpole is regarded as the first Prime Minister of Britain. Why is this so? What factors facilitated and encouraged his emergence as the first Prime Minister? Did this have any constitutional implications? (2011) AREA OF FOCUS: Character, Achievements VI: WHIG OLIGARCHY What were the reasons for the supremacy of Whig oligarchy from 1714 1760? What were the merits and demerits of Whig ascendancy? (2002) Note: The Whig Oligarchy. (2004) (2005) What were the causes of success and failure of Whig oligarchy in England? Explain. (2008) AREA OF FOCUS: Reasons, causes of success and failure of Whig Oligarchy Merits and demerits VII: WAR OF AUSTRIAN SUCCESSION VIII: JENKINS EAR WAR AND SEVEN YEARS WAR AREA IX: WILLIAM PITT (1756-1763) X: GEORGE III PERSONAL RULE What was the personal rule of George III. How it was established and also narrate the causes of its failure. (2007) Write critical essay of George III Personal Rule? its a great effort dude....it covers all the topics, yet do remember to be critical and develop your own opinion as the questions in exam are not that simple now...and one more thing thing paper 1 is quite easy try to cover it asap and save time for paper 2 as it is more general in nature..

Well it varies from person to person....i covered both the papers in 2 months...you can reduce this time to 45 days....give 20 days to paper1 and 25 days to paper 2....even if you give 2 months to both the papers then don't worry....history paper if prepared well can fetch you good marks otherwise it can turn out to be a disaster so try to prepare it as good as you can.....remember the essence of history paper is revision...the more you revise it the more the chances of passing it with flying colours...

Can you please recommend some books to prepare from? I am currently relying on jahangirs british history and A text book of english history by Southgate.
