I did not opt for European History a friend of mine did and he scored exceptionally well in the Subject ( 140 ). European History is a comprehensive subject and one cannot prepare it thoroughly with just one book, that is if one wants to score more than 120.

I'd suggest

Europe since Napoleon by David Thomson

Aspects of European History by Stephen J. Lee

European since 1789 by V.D.Mahajan.

V.D.Majahan is not that good but has the necessary data to help you out...it is a lengthy book you so you'll have to skip the details etc. Make your own notes.
