Default Expectations from Indo-Pak CSS 2018

Dear all,

Share your experience and expectation from Indo Pak CSS 2018.

I found it a very very veryyyy lengthy subject. During exams, one barely has enormous time to revise all the topics, all the rulers, all the events and retain it in memory while expecting to produce the same on paper

However, this year's paper was not at all tough. I attempted only one question from Mughal Empire and the rest were PA + CA questions.

I am positive I shall get decent scores in this paper if examiner agrees with my opinion and critical stance

Keep me in your prayers.

This is my last attempt

Dear S R Bhutto,

Thank you for your post. I appeared in 2018 for my first attempt with History of Pakistan and India as one my optional subjects. My experience/considerations/observations are as follows.

1) I opted for Indopak because of the following reasons.
i) Interest
ii) Prior knowledge
iii) overlap with Pak affairs
iv) I did not have IR as an optional so I felt I would be at a disadvantage if I took US history

2) I read 4-5 books from the recommended list. The topics I covered were those which overlapped with Pak affairs e.g
i) Ideology of Pak
ii) history of Pak relations with US and India
iii) separation of east Pakistan
iv) pakistan movement
v) constitutional challenges etc.

3) For pre-1857 I prepared only
i) Iltutmish, Balban
ii) arrival of British, decline of Mughals, impact of Islam etc

I felt that it was likely that questions on these topics would appear in the exam. This was, of course, guesswork and it did not work.

4) I attempted questions on
i) Lucknow pact
ii) congress ministries
iii) elections of 1970
iv) performance of parliament in Pak

It is obvious that all four of these questions can be attempted by preparing for Pak affairs.

5) I don't know what to expect regarding my score. However, I have no regrets taking Indopak and I urge others to consider taking it. It saved me a lot of time, I played to my strengths and enjoyed while I was at it.

Regards.
