Default A Mughal King had more than 4 wives- (Was it according to Shariah?)

Asalam o Alaikum,

Friends, I have read Mughal's history broadly. I come to know most of the Mughal King had more than 4 wives, for instance Zahirudin Babar, which is concidered one of the honorable personalities in Mughal Emperors. Apart from that many other Mughals get married with Non-Muslims' women. Now I am little confused, whether we can say they were good mustlims or bad? For example there is a question asked in our exam to write down about the Zahirudin Babar or Akbar, they had many wives more than 4, in addition to thin according to "Tuzk-e-Babri" Babar himslef confessed that he looted many people killed many innocent people and said that It was the need of our and was needed for his emperor to make it enough strong.

And there are many other things which does not make sense that how to mention these things in paper?

If we say "Zahirudin Babar did well, was great general killed many people, and spread his emperos' and whenever he used to conquer a state he further went to keep on to expand his sultanate. However, He got married with Aisha Begum, Dildar beguam, then Mahama Begum, Afghani/Mubarik beguam....and so on I have many things to discuss ...

Was it good or bad?

How to mention it in paper?

[B][COLOR="DarkOrange"]thanks for information in so details. you are right dear, but one cannot write such controversial ideas in the paper about the muslim rulers as it will not earn good marks. secondly, you said that the mughal kings had more than four wives which is unislamic. in reply to this, i would say that although they were muslims but not muslims in true letter and spirite. they had not come here for the cause of islam.they attacked subcontinent just to expand thier area and control the wealth and other resources of this area. thirdly you have brought my attention towards the killings done by the mughal emperor is not justifiable. in my perception , they got control of subcontinent by fighting war against the opponents and not by peaceful means , so it was obvious that in the war people die from both sides.

so donot concentrate on contradictary aspects of mughal rule. just produce that matter which is good and what is asked in the paper.

What is so wrong in mentioning that some Mughal did have more than 4 wives when you have some reference to corroborate your claim? There is no such thing as "Not getting good marks" only because you have highlighted some negative aspects of Muslims. It is not about letter and spirit, it is an un-islamic act.

Muslim rulers have had a knack for maintaining Harems (Concubines) consisting of 100s of women, ranging from princess to slaves and women taken as booty in wars.

Write whatever you feel like in the exam, as long as you have data to corroborate your stance. Some of the Mughals were a bunch of debauched individuals and there is nothing wrong in admitting that.

And never walk the middle path as many will suggest you. Neutrality is good, but partiality is fatal. Mughals had issues, we all know that. Had Jalal-ud-din Akbar dared to invent "Deen-E-Elahi" in this era, he would be long dead in some suicide attack, thanks to TTP fellows, such were his mischiefs.

It is imperative that you build a very strong and critical opinion about every issue, whether in the favour or against the issue, based on sound examples, facts and figures and quotes etc. It does not matter how big you talk or what claims you make, what matters is how you justify your claims. Only that is going to bring you marks

dear, what you are telling is right but being a student of history, i never came across a book where about the issue of the wives of mughal kings has been mentioned.
secondly, it is your sole responsibility whether you discusssuch issues in the paper or not. but according to my perception,it will have negative impact upon the examiner.one has to keep a balance view about any topic.
