I found "People's History of United States" by Howard Zinn to be the best precise book on US History. Apart from this one can refer my notes along with Majumdar's Books for the Historical Perspective of the Subject.
As far as the 2nd part ov new syllabus is concern which emphasis more on the current scenario, US Relations, wars and it implications, one must go through all the articles related to USA in JWT MAGAZINE and Daily DAWN. Wish you all GOOD LUCK.
