Default Lets Start Topic wise preperation of Histroy of USA

Dear Member, the intention of starting this thread is to prepare this subject with full brainstorming. My intentions are to start a topic from the syllabus and then every member who has opted for this subject should pour his/her knowledge about that subject. If we would successfull in carrying out this activity as planned, IN SHAH ALLAH, till exams, we will cover whole syllabus with rich material.

Had you appeared in ce-16? if yes then share your preparation strategy along with paper's experience.
Yes! I have opted it for ce-17 but didn't start preparation. However, I used to read some topics i.e features of constitutions, separation of power etc on the daily basis.

Yes, I appeared in ce-16, and for this paper I used JWT book. I started topic wise preparation from the syllabus. But failed to make notes of current development which was a terrible mistake and i payed the price in the paper. this time, my plan is to revise the book thoroughly that i have plus Majumdar book and one online book recommended by FPSC and will try to catch up all the latest developments through any online US newspaper. As this is scoring subject, therefore, this time i want to make the most of it.

The only quandary that i am in is about the president portion of this subject. Any help in this portion???

I undertook U.S History for my 2016 attempt. I would not recommend JWT book for preparation as it is not academically sound. There is a lot of repitition and contains irrelevent information as well. A lot of the information is copied and pasted from unreliable sources. That's just my opinion.

Thanks for your opinion. I will buy new book of majumdar soon. Until then, revise basics from this one. Would you suggest any other book apart from majumdar's????

Majumdar was my go-to book for the history part of the syllabus. Just so you're aware, many dates in the new editions of Majumdar are incorrect. I would suggest that you tally them with a american history timeline. I used a lot of online journal articles from JSTOR. For current happeninings, I would consult accredited newspapers like The New York Times or Washington Post. For example, currently I'm doing all my research on the presidential elections 2016 from online sources.

I hope the above information is of some help.

Hmmm! to some extant I have the same experience, I didn't make any notes but I liked some Facebook pages/groups about U.S politics. I used to discussed the current scenario of politics on those pages/groups regularly. it really helped me in the paper.
cram series books should be avoided for CSS preparation or you should add some others books with a to the point book.
