there are many movies on presidents alone you can search and see. My methodology is that i search time period and see movies of that specific era .Ithink this way of learning is long-lasting.

Hello felllas. I've studied US History and found the following link most helpful apart from books and academy lectures. I found movies somewhat little contrary to actual history. The information is in most cases is fabricated. I'd suggest you to visit Yale University page (Link No 1) on YouTube and download all Professor Freeman's lectures. For short notes, visit link No 2. It will be better if you just get a good book of us history and go through it several times , because some details are always overlooked while watching a movie.

For example you want to see movie about Civil war , you google movies on civil war , you will be given list then you can download them. Its very simple. I somehow agree with hmkashif . Yes there is dramatic element in movies but for fun or general understanding its great to see movies and documentaries. There is a journal called American History which is also a great source of learning.
