General and current topics of US History
 

Dear senior members kindly suggest me an appropriate source for general topics of US History like US Presidential Election, The US Congress, Role of the US in international conflicts, Global perception of the US etc. Because History books do not embody these topics.

Current topics are needed to be covered by newspapers, monthly Journals, articles by credible authors and internet. Latest editions are not out yet. Mostly books available in market have events till early 2016. Read daily dawn. Monthly JWT. Articles by Dawn and Herald are good and are easily available online. You can consult international magazines or articles by foreign credible authors as well for getting more opinions.

Is there not any book to know about US Presidential Election Process and role and functions of Congress?

These topics are in books but I thought you are asking about current scenario of these topics as mentioned in your heading. I have studied these topics from JWT book but the book I have is 2016 edition and there is nothing about Donald's election etc in book. Wait for new edition if it is not our already.

Yes, 2018 will be my 2nd attempt.

Yes it is highly recommended to attempt IR, IL and US History as many topics in these subjects overlap each other. Moreover it can help in English Essay preparation.
