Default Best Books for Preparation for Islamic History and Culture for CE-2021

Dear Forum Members,

I have decided to opt for Islamic History and Culture for CE-2021. I shall be grateful if you could suggest me a book for preparation. As the recommended books recommended by FPSC are too many to be read in 10-15 days.

Islamic History and Cultural has five portions: Pre-Prophet Era, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) era, Orthodox caliphate, Umayyad Caliphate, Abbasid Caliphate period, Ottoman Empire and culture aspects of different aspect. These topics could not cover by reading single book. You have to read many books. Some books I consulted for IHC for cce preparation and scored well more than 130. Names of books are being mentioned below:
  1. A short History of Islam- Mazhar Ul haq
  2. Spanish history - Mazhar Ul Haq
  3. A Short History of Arab- PK Hatti
  4. Moors in Spain-Poole

First two books cover 90 % syllabus of IHC. Only Ottoman Empire is not discussed in Mazhar's book. Otherwise, it is sufficient for preparation of IHC. You can get 60+ by consulting Mazhar's book. PK Hatti is good book for opinion making for portion from Pre-partition till modern world. For Spanish history, Moors in Spain is also used for references. You can reach on summit of IHC by consulting books that mentioned above.

Are you sure that these are enough? The only reason I didn't opt IHC is the excessive time required for collecting authentic and concise sources for this subject. I am interested in it more than US History and it can save me an extra subject in KPK PMS as it is of 200 marks as compared to 100 marks US History. I can still switch as I have only prepared one topic of US History till now.
What do you suggest? No pressure, I just want an opinion ----- decision will be mine.

Please note that Mazhar Ul Haq’s books are banned for sale in market. Please suggest any alternative.
I checked in Urdu bazar, Lahore.

Yes, if you love IHC then go for it brother. I have few reasons to tell you why should you opt IHC. Islamic History portion of Seerat of Prophet Muhammad PBUH is entirely overlapped with Islamic Studies Paper. Public administration in Islam is also same in both paper. So, you could catch two birds with one stone by opting IHC. Another reason is love and romance for Islam, Islamic culture and Islamic way of life. It is like stories that we used to hear from our birth. Our parents and grandparents used to tell stories of Prophet Muhammad PBUH and Sahaba etc. So you must opt IHC. Brother , in my first attempt I opted US history as one of my subject. When I begun preparation of US history, I bored by reading Christian names of American . Even I could not retain names of places and person in history. After paper, I realised that US was not cup of tea for me. Therefore, I switched to IHC. As good luck have it, I just read whole IHC within seven days because I fell in love this subject. It proved beneficial in exam when I attempted it CCE examination in 2018. I passed with flying colours. Hence, you must choose this subject. This will help you not only in pms but also in css.

It is available in Karachi brother. I consulted from this book. This book is written in logical order and impartial analysis of all events. You can check in old book centre.

Recently, I checked the scoring trend for Islamic History. I was surprised to see that it has a failure ratio of more than 80% in CE-2018.
