Yes, a person having biological background can prepare forestry well. Go through course contents and past papers they will help you to finalize your decision.
Wish you luck!

Note: Forestry (100 Marks) and Zoology (200 Marks)

Default Forestry

Forestry is generally opted only by the candidates who have a previous knowledge of botany, agriculture or forestry itself. Just an aptitude for forestry would not help you. Because forestry is a combination of botany, agriculture, zoology, statistics and social sciences and this subject needs a strong technical skill along with theoretical knowledge. The subject is easy to pass but difficult to get high marks. The subject is very easy for candidates having botanical or agricultural knowledge but it can be very difficult for the candidate with the background of arts.

Dear friends. I have studied O-level/matric biology only, how much will it help understand the forestry subject for css?

If you have background of natural sciences and want to replace zoology then consider botany (200 marks), and then opting forestry would also be a good choice because it will set a same biological tone for you.
