Biological background is ideal but one can understand meaning of any technical term coming in way. Paper generally covers broader perspective. Take a look at any forestry book, and opt if you find it easy. Subject is high scoring.

Nodoubt forestry is easy and having a short syllabus but i think you should go through the past papers inorder to take any decision

it depends on your aptitude & interest and if you have no background you can easily go for it if you have even a little interest.
But as a matter of fact Forestry is a smooth and general type of subject without any difficult scientific burden. you can better make a decision by having an overview of past papers (2000-2014).
