well botany can be a good scoring subject and one can get 150-170 marks with some hard work.

if you want to pass only and to get marks around 100-120 thn only consult books of Dr Nawaz but if you want to get some good marks thn you must have to see other sources as well.... one can easily get material from internet and can form one's own notes...

in my thinking version of dr. nawaz is old one and latest themes in genetics, biotechnology, laws of evolution, physiological cycles like kreb cycle, calvin cycle, glycolosis etc are missing there.

i cant comment upon book of tanver ahmed becoz i hav'nt seen it.

i had prepared botany - with very less efforts- from books of dr nawaz, books of majeed sons for B.Sc., internet sources, borrowed a book on genetics (sorry forgot its name) and without putting extra efforts i scored upto 145, so a good student with hard work can score upto 160-170....

as compared to dr. nawaz tanver ahmed's books are better.

in my opinion, dr nawaz's books r although somewhat outdated(as the author has expired) but easy to comprehend n to the point with simple illustrations n language. on the other hand, tanveer' s books r v. detailed n difficult 2 understand. if one goes through the past papers , one will find that the papers r of b.sc. level n dr. nawaz's books r enough 2 prep 4 them.regards.

dear there r so many mistakes in dr. nawaz's books.you know the nomenclature matters alot in botany and in his books the majoriy of botanical names of species are wrong.if we neglect these mistakes there r so many conceptual mistakes.now it is not a matter of choice.one must go for the right thing.:non o
