you had asked about the reliability of NKM books.. I have read their books and unforntunatley I had hardly any other option.. but to be honest NKM books are the worst to study or consult.. but their addition of history of English Literature by B.R. Mullick is a good one no doubt as the writer is actually Indian..

dear mr. or ms. , u are frightening us.. we have to answer, not to write a hell lot of philosophy.. if one can write tersely, one neednt any harangue of 8 to ten pages.. be brief but include all the main and vital details.. the length doesnt matter.. what u say and how u say it does matter.. of course quots n personal critical analysis are crucial but i dnt agree with ur ""8 to 10 pgs""

nkm books reliabilty,
Now i need a break here, after going thru the thread, i am once again uncertain about the reliability of nkm books,I have two huge doubts:
number 1: can we pass thru exams if we prepare from these books(plus our own words, obviously) number 2: is it OK to prepare from the notes that are easily available on internet, i mean the examiners know it very well that we have taken these notes from internet, so will they except that material??? sis Last Island i would love to see your precious advice here, so pls help me out....waiting

see memuna, if the whole trouble is of only passing the exam, u can easily do it without consulting any book except the original text.. so it can be done by consulting NKM books too.. secondly, though the teacher's know that the material is taken from internet but if u cite the link or website and include ur own analysis, u won't be crossed.. but if u wholly, only n solely copy n paste from net, i fear u would be crossed..

Are NKM books reliable?
@ DA_ SKEPTIC
yes brother....i understand..of course i wont copy n paste...and about only passing....may be yes cause basically i was science student so i had no interest in literature BUT as i am in to it now...i really want to get thru it nicely..not by barely passing...what i need is just a word of satisfaction that will the analysis based on my understanding from these books and internet be enough to get good marks???

Assalam o Alaikum ... i also have given exam of MA english, part I... actually I cant cram anything as it is ... so i just consulted daniyal guide series vd full concentration, according to me its a good guide....i also cleared my concepts from internet .... then i wrote everything in my own wording.. and yes i also read sm books of NKM, these r very easy and quite simple... according to me... i understand prologue to canterbury tales from NKM bc i found quite easy to understand verses from it... now i dnt know weather i wud b able to get good marks or not...and also i did not elongate anything... i was also a science student and for improving my English i have chosen MA English....and my answers were not more than 5 pages...
Now those will say anything about all this who have completed their MA English...and plz give sm suggestion for preparation of MA English part II also... |
