I agree... but in 4th semester all get equal : Essay and American Literature. In first we all have to counter Brig. sb's drama. Lucky for us that we didn't fell prey to the deadly academic disease known as AMBRINAPHOBIA... though we encountered it in Poetry-B. I guess you had faced it in two semesters... But I think our batch had more SEASONED and WISE SOULS that made us study more than anything else and at the end, with a collective effort, we passed with flying colours.

68% in such circumstances is an excellent score. Hats off to you.

Regards

Thanks bro,......... You know i got 108 marks in modern novel from Ma'em Ambrina and scored above hundred in all senior teachers like Brig sb. Sheikh Saeed Sb. Maem Ambrina, the thing which mattered was the junior teacher with no criteria,, like Sir Amir, & Co,, the toppers of their subjects were the failure of others........ I and other positioned holders were very mediocre in their scoring lists.... I escaped Sir Shaukat because i opted for thesis... and scored 127 in thesis instead of attempting american literature...

Thesis has always been a better option than American Literature if one has it. I and one more from my batch got nominated for thesis but at the last moment we decided not to go for it. You know all the AIRFORCE BATCH was in American Literature's class, and we didn't want to go astray from them.

If you have 108 in Novel-B from Ambrina Ma'am than it means you must have had a very strong grip over it. I had 122 in Novel-B. And believe me 133 in Prose-A I had 97 in Poetry-A and 99 in Drama-A taught by Sheikh Sb and Brig. Sb respectively.

We managed to cope up with both the old and young teachers and were able to get place in their good books.

Regards

Allusions in waste land

T.S.Eliot belonged to the age of industrialization and of world wars.He presented literary theory and have inspiration with Ezra pound.The Waste land is an important poem ,being enriched with biblical allusions and mythology.in his own words;

Quote:
....."the poet must become more and more comprehensive,more allusive more indirect in order to force,to dislocate if necessary,language in to its meaning `T.S.Eliot`
the point of view of Eliot regarding tradition is well elaborated;
Quote:
Tradition can not be inherited,and if you want it you must obtain it by great labor
In this confused poem,poet contrasted past and present,anarchy and morality,tradition and individual talent with continuous quoting from Chaucer to Alexander pope.He alluded also from Spanish and french writers to make it classical.
