The Social Construction of Gender by Judith Lorber
Feminist Thoughts by Rosemarie Tong
Gender planning and development by Caroline Moser

These are among books recommended by FPSC, and can be downloaded from the Internet.

You can also search the Internet for case studies and other relevant stuff.

Cool

every subject has its own nature, as far as CSS is concerned;we could not pre-guess the difficulty and ease of this very subject. however, i have studied it-- not so difficult not so easy..... seems interesting to me

Default Gender Studies

I have recently started preparing Gender Studies subject for CSS 2016. Since it's a new course, there are very few books available in the market. I am reading M. Nawaz Khalid Aarbi's book published by JWT. Though, it's a nice compilation but there are so many errors and in some topics irrelevant material has been put together.
Gender Studies isn't all about whining and complaining but it is a sociological, political and economical study from a gender based perspective ( particularly that of women's) which is very philosophical in nature.
If you have studied political science, history, literature or sociology previously it won't be tough but for science students it may seem difficult.
My strategy is
1: First Read for grasping the general understanding.
2: Second Read for proper detailed knowledge.
3. Third Read would be revising the general understanding.
Good Luck!!
