Please tell me which one is the best book available in the market which covers most of the syllabus of gender studies? please do share your experience who opted gender studies in previous exams.

Tabishx2, there are number of books related to Gender Studies in the market. JWT book is short and concise, as far as length of the content goes but in some of the topics it fails to present even the gist of the topic (e.g., Queer Theory). In this regard, I would recommend you to have Gender Studies by Advance Publisher, by your side and whenever JWT's book fails to do its job consult Advance's book. In this way, you will have more than one source to consult with which will certainly benefit you.

If you have allocated reasonable time for Gender Studies, follow both books e.g., JWT's and Advance's. Skim through both books. Make one of it which you like as primary book. For some complex topics (like Queer Theory, etc.) consult both or internet, as well, if you have to.

On the other hand, if you are facing time constraints than only consult Advance's book. Gender Studies, among other subjects of CSS, provide you a rear liberty to skip few topics because there are only eight major topics and CSS aspirant only have to attempt four questions in the exam, which means you can skip few boring or complex topics, again like Queer Theory.

Having natural inclination towards social sciences and women studies in particular, gender studies is on my favorite list while going for CSS. after going through bookish material available in market and studying the subject myself from Aiou prescribed course of GS, I came to a conclusion that it is very technical subject which can be grabbed with little organization and effort.
