Recommend a good book/resource material for Gender Studies

Hi all,

I prepared from NOA's Gender Studies last time for my attempt. But now I want to change it. If anyone has any awesome book to recommend be it from FPSC's recommended list which they have found to be useful, please let me know.

Thanks!

I am sorry for the smiley in the title of the post. I thought the emoji would appear in the post I had written, rather than the title. (' __' ; ).

I was planning to buy NOA’s Gender Studies by Aman Ullah Gondal. Is it not good? Moreover, Gender Studies by Advanced Publishers is also recommended.

Hi AceCoder,

Nah, the book is good enough to help you cover the syllabus and it provides all the information that is required if you don't have time to search it yourself. But it was my main source last time and I want to change that because the entire world relies on it, so there'll be repetition of ideas. And either way relying on one source is not always good. Besides, these academy books don't provide in-depth study which is kind of a handicap.

Thank you! This book covers only theoretical portion of the syllabus. If there is any other book that you know which covers about Pakistan, please let me know.

For Pakistan specific issues, you will have to use internet. Not a single book will suffice. Gondal's book is trash.

Go for AH Publisher's book Competitive Gender Studies. They have compiled the book from numerous foreign books and is very well authored

in My opinion neither fully rely on Amnaullah Gondal book nor on the other books. I have JWT but I combine knowledge of both as well as the internet is a very important source. Also, do check youtube specifically Virtual university lectures.
