Default Difference between Gender and Women studies!

Salam everyone.

I am reading Amanullah Gondal’s book for Gender Studies. As far as I can deduce is that the author of this book himself is not so clear as to what differentiates Gender from Women studies. Eventually I ended up searching this topic on the internet. But there again some explanations are so vague. I request senior aspirants specially those who have hands on experience with this subject to guide me in this matter.

Thank you.

Unfortunately, so far I am unable to find a single sufficient source, but my strategy is to approach all available sources (online), filter which seems credible and try to grasp the meaning of a particular doctrine and development, and it works for me.
