hello this is sajjad ali. i want to opt urdu subject can you tell me some good book for paper 1, paper 2 both and can you tell me how much time it would take to complete and along with that i wanna know about the scoring of this subject that either it is scoring or not if yes then how much score can be availed from this subject.

can you please help me i am in puzzle.
i wanna opt urdu as optional subject but i am facing huge and bitter impediment that i can not understand the method and why to prepare for example if we talk about the raja gidh novel which is included in the curriculum is to long if you take a look at the size of the novel akin to it there are so many novel to home we have to cover according to the curriculum so how we are going to cover up these all. hence i am so confused . i saw some plunges here how were prescribing some book regarding urdu subject but in them there were no one book like raja gidh , udaas naslam so how they are going to cover all these novels its out of my nerves.

second akin to the novel there are so many poets like galib , iqbal, meer and the curriculum is giving reference of there novel to so either i have to buy each book like separate book for galib shaeri, separate book of iqbal and so of meer. and all the poems i have to cover which are written in there scripture or is there any other way by which we can prepear them.

third of nasar negari same hindrance lay there that there are so many nasar nigar to whom we have to cover according to curriculum the what we should do in this logjam situation plz help me plz help me

and what about the history and evolution of urdu ziban and different period of history and ther influence which was made of urdu ziban by other languages like punjabi, hindi etc

i am waiting for you precious comments plz help me plz help me

Default Is there any other option available??

Dear Brother,

although i am not a senior member of this forum yet i would like to answer your query as i have opted for urdu in css-2010.

Initially you should see that whether you have any other option or not. if you think there is any other option more viable then you should go ahead for that.

Secondly, as far as i can understand and one of my classmates that have almost qualified css-2009 has advised me, not a SINGLE person will be able to even read the entire syllabus of Urdu. it is impossible if a person is simple graduate and has not studied this subject earlier. so chances are same for every one. but exception will exist for people with background like MA Urdu.

Thirdly, any other subject will be going to consume same amount of time plus if you opt for any thing in English, you will have to focus on your grammar and vocab as well. so it will be better to write in your mother tongue that will safe your energy that can used to read and retain in your mind.

You can visit the thread that gives the name of books for urde, I prepared from Maktaba-e-faridi's book that was publised for the first time last year.

I hope the answer will help you.

Regards

FASEEH

i told you one of the best books of urdu...1st you should read this..it will cover everything..no need to read all Nasar(prose)books...but yes if u can it would be a better thing...u have to crame some poetry of Ghalib,Meer,iQBAL etc etc,so that u would be able to quote them in your Paper 2...i suggest you if u are adamant to opt urdu, then u must stick to your decision now,and start to read Amjad Ali Shakir'book....(no need to read seperate poetry'books)

Default Books for UrdU

@ Maha khan.

Despite of the expert views of the snr. @ Maha Khan. I would like to point few points. First of all the books by amjid ali shakir and the other one i did't remember the name of the writer just now, are "really short in market". when i went to urdu bazar karachi i was not able to find it. secondly these two books will almost double the effort will be putting in for urdu. bcz these are the origional works of the respected authors.

the book that i mentioned to you contains following:

-The history of urdu nasar and nazam, various asnaaf like naat, nassar, drama etc.

- almost all the poets
- almost all the prose writers
- summary and critical analysis of drama like you have mentioned raja gidh, kapass ka pholl etc.
- summary and analysis of poems like tulu-e-islam

this book is written by the prof. of DJ science college karachi.

if you think you can condense the above two books, yes i got the name, books by amjid ali shakir and dr. saleem akhtar. then go ahead. otherwise it will take a lot of enegy of yours.

@ Maha khan

if you donot like comments i am sorry, i really respt snrz views.

Regards

Default Still Books!!!

Dear fellow,

Do not think to much so that you may not waste your time to study. I bought the book i have been referring to from "MAKTABA-E-FARIDI" in main Urdu Bazar Karachi. it is a very well known book shop, u can also purchase books for other subjects from there.

For the books mentioned by Maha, these are very good but at the same time comparatively expensive and short supplied in market or perhaps since i was looking to optimize my budget for book & manage time for study (I am preoccupied with a 9-5 job) and was looking for "used books" that's y i would have find them short. Either could be the reason. If u search for new ones you may find them easily(It could be so).

so have a visit of Urdu bazaar and check it out.

@Maha,
Thanks for Ur appreciation. I dream to study at Officers Academy Lahore.

Thanks & Regards,

FASEEH
