@ Malik Shaban

Books for Urdu Optional:

Urdu Adab Tareekh Wa Tanqeed By Amjad Ali Shakir

Caravan Urdu Optional By Kashif Faraz Ahmed

These Two Books are sufficient for Urdu. Besides these I hope more Forum Mates will suggest other books.

Regards and Reverence

@ shah110 & All

I want to know from you people who have adopted Urdu as your optional that is it scoring or not? Most the candidate are of the view that we should adopt any other subject rather than Urdu. As you have mentioned the syllabus also so kindly help me that to which extent we can get good marks in urdu or what is the ratio of highest marks in urdu? And what should a candidate do to get good marks in urdu?

Regards

Zoyee

So far as the concern of Urdu as an optional for CSS, it is a good subject and can earn you good marks if you put the same hard work as you put for other subjects. Besides, urdu is our national language and this give an edge to this subject over others as all other are in english. So I think only reading the text of urdu can help you a lot understanding the sole of Urdu Adab. secondly, those people who have opted for Indo-Pak history and have urdu too can have a very clearer picture of history and literature by reading both simultaneously. Moreover, Urdu Adab also helps in the preparation of pak affairs like the role played by Sir syed Ahmen khan is very prominent in Urdu adab and in pakistan movement and of many others.

if you have little interest in Urdu Adab then must opt for this subject. Otherwise a wide list of subjects is waiting for you with the exception of Urdu adab
