GUl Urdu essay jitna lengthy ho utna acha hai.25 marks ka hai tou kam uz kam 10 page tou hon.Keep in mind "kam uz kam".12-15 pages would be enough.

@All I just checked past paper,there is something good for you;ap ko tashreeh mein shayir ka naam likhnay ki zaroorat nae.They just asked for tashreeh,so ap logon ki pareshani khatam

thanks...n yes its good to hear that no need to write poet's name.farah which books you are using for poetry n its tashreeh.i have one book that is for PMS with very limited '' asha'ar ''...since syllabus is not mentioned so i want to ask key ham kidhar sey inko prepare karein.inter n matric level urdu ki books hain merey paas,they have some poets n tashreeh.wo buhat hain or not ?
aap kidhar sey prepare kar rai ho.I'm zero in Urdu poetry really.

Gul As I have Urdu optional so meri tashreeh k lye tayari tou khud ba khud ho jaye gi.Maha said Emporium publishers ki Urdu General len.Inter aur matric wali books will help but ap wesay he kuch famous poets ki poetry keren.
aisa kerti hun mein kuch Important poetry ki Forum pe tashreeh kerna shuru kerti hun,it will help you.

yes tashreeh is the most difficult part of this paper.Ghalib n others i don't understand them much..plz start it as soon as possible.it will help us a lot.n farah i want to say something.you are so nice n so sweet.thanx for all your work.tc.

ur knowledge of urdu is impressive, plz guide abt the tashree portion of PMs urdu general paper. as u ve mentioned and it is evident from past papers too that we are not required to write the poet's name, my querry is that if we dont know the name of the poet ,can we correctly comprehend the poetry? i mean a shair might convey different literal meaning but its meaning with regard to the whole work might be different.
my second querry is that what standard we should keep in view while doing tashree. is it the mere translation of words or we must write something with reference to the context of the stanza?
moreover plz guide abt the source from which urdu grammer can be prepared as most of us dont study urdu after fsc.
and lastly i ve heard from someone that urdu paper should be done in a manner which is liked by urdu teachers. i mean giving poetic references,quotes from famous urdu scholars etc.. if this is the requirement how can we manage to learn these things in this short time..

The verses in Urdu compulsory are enough easy to explain.They are just to check your understanding and capability to elaborate poetry,that's why,they are neither complicated nor convey any ambiguous meanings.For example;

tum hamaray kisi tarah na hue,
werna dunya mein kia nahi hota

Even if you don't know the name of poet,you can easily explain.Isn't it?

Look!the verses for tashreeh are not taken from "Nazm" whose every sher is connected with the other having some context.In paper of Urdu compulsory,they give sher from "ghazal" and ghazal's every sher is different from the other so no context at all.Well..It should not be mere translation rather it should be proper explanation.Tashreeh which I did in previous post is "mafhoom" just for understanding of ghazal.Proper Tashreeh should be like this;

Buy book Urdu general for PMS;all literary terms will be there.

Just memorize some easy poetic verses which can be used in every tashreeh.Poetry on "gham","mortality of world","indifference of beloved".Find easy ashaar that can be easily memorized.for example;

dil e nadaa'n tujhe hua kia hai,
aakhir is dard ki dawa kia hai

And

tum meray paas hotay ho goya,
jab koi doosra nahi hota
