Default Recommend a book for Urdu literature

Asalam alaikum,

I went through urdu's syllabus and find it quite lengthy. I would just like to know students who take urdu as their option, do they go through all the suggested readings

http://www.cssforum.com.pk/urdu.php
or are there any books that covers almost all the syllabus specially poems-- can we find them in just one book??

Assalamo alikum
yes there are books about the "" bahr O aozaan"" in urdu poetry. and a poet must ( excluding azaad shaairii) meet the require ments of that bahr, qafiya and radeef. I got some links , would turn back to you as soon as possible.
there are some books by Hasrat Muhani as well.

see you after a while.

Assalam-o-Alikum...!!!!!

Dear Aspirants,

Urdu is a good scoring subject and easy to understand. From a little hardwork one can be able to attempt the paper and can get atleast 40 marks to get passed easily. what u need to do is, you will have to go through the whole text, pick up some past papers and try to lay stress on the topics which are asked most frequently in the last 5 years.

Remember, that if u put as hardwork as you do for other papers u can get 70 to 80 marks in Urdu. I have attended lectures of urdu by DR. Faraz at officers academy lahore. He said that urdu is a good scoring subject and with a little effort one can secure good marks.

Here I am Refering 2 books

Urdu Adab Tareekh-o-Tanqeed: By Prof. Amjad Ali Shakir.
Urdu optional : By Kashif Faraz Ahmed. ( Covers both CSS and PMS syllabus).

Regard and Reverence
