Default Book for Urdu Idioms
Assalam-o-Alaikum all,
I intend to appear in provincial competitive exam. In this exam there is a questions always asked about Urdu idioms/ mahawray.

Please can you tell me the name of comprehensive book on urdu idioms that contains good number of urdu idioms / mahawray. It should contain enough number of idioms as the idioms are rarely repeated from the past papers.

I don't know about any specific book but the book for post of Lecturer/S.S Urdu(subject) may help you.

By the way,poetry isn't that difficult as you have considered it You just have to explain it in your own words.Give it a try

Actually, my vocabulary of formal urdu words is not good, that is why I feel problem in writing the explanation of poetry .

You should read explanation of poetry given in helping books of Matric/F.A.It's better to overcome weaknesses

i am very fond of poetry and like urdu also but i dont have much idea and knowlegde about urdu history...... senior please guide that should i opt urdu or not????

Opting Urdu would be a risk.You should check past papers and then decide whether you would be able to deal with it or not.
