Default Let's prepare Zoology for 2014:
Interested candidates are invited to take part in this thread.Your zeal must be high before becoming the part of this thread.Everything regarding zoology will be discussed,ranging from past paperz to minute pinching questions.But but but serious students should join it.We all will continue this thread upto paperz.I know,we'd remain a few in the journey but will be informative about the subject.And we can fetch good marks as well in the papers.Besides,otherz queries like any ques,mcqz, will be addressed with utmost zeal and zest.

we should start with cell biology.according to my view if we prepare one section it would sway us for further preparation.

Right you are.Ok let's begin with cell biology.

cytology-the science which deals with the study of cells.
Cell was discovered by Robert Hook in 1664.
Early biologists had said that cells arise from non-living things but later on it was experimentally proved that cells were arising from pre-existing cells.Thus,it was coined that cells are the structural and funtional units of organisms.
Thus,further studies have revealed lot of knowledge.Therefore,today,we all know that cell is the fundamental unit of life and is composed of:
1.cell/plasma membrane
2.cytoplasm
3.nucleus

cell/plasma membrane separates intracellular environment and extracellular enviroment.it also give the quality of being selective permeability.
Cytoplasm contains cellular organelles.
Nucleus was discovered by Robert Brown.Nucleus is usually round or oval in shape and lies at the centre of cell.
Nucleus is the controlling centre of the cell because it contains all hereditary material like DNA and RNA.
Nucleus is covered by a double layered membrane called Nuclear membrane/envelop.it has numerous pores called nuclear pores through wch exchange of some materials take place.Inside the membrane lies nucleoplasm wch is gel like substance.it contains chromatin network and nucleolus.
